Student and Youth Show in Celebration of Macao's Return to the Motherland cum International Youth Dance Festival
SJM Resorts promotes global artistic and cultural collaboration
This year marks two very auspicious anniversaries – the 75th anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of the Establishment of the Macau SAR. In honour of these momentous occasions, SJM Resorts has joined hands with the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited to present the "Student and Youth Show in Celebration of Macao's Return to the Motherland cum International Youth Dance Festival".
Beginning with a parade on 20 July that will wind through Macau's historic districts, this event will run through 25 July 2024 and will feature nearly 1,500 performers, including students, youth, and over 400 volunteers from Macau and around the globe. Among these will be more than 700 performers for the "Student and Youth Show in Celebration of Macao's Return to the Motherland", consisting of local teachers and students as well as youth from the Greater Bay Area. These performers will showcase an inspiring mix of theatre, song and dance, Peking opera, Cantonese music, martial arts, and multimedia presentations. In addition, the International Youth Dance Festival will feature over 700 young talents from 35 groups worldwide, who will bring their fabulous parade, flash mobs, artistic performance workshops, and outdoor performances to Macau.
SJM is pleased to share the joy of these dual anniversaries with tourists and local residents by hosting this festival, and proud to support the development of Macau's local talent while promoting synergies between "Tourism + Art" and other complimentary areas. We believe this event will also reinforce Macau's status as a "City of Performing Arts" and shine a spotlight on the city's soft power as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.
On 21 July, join us at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau for a flash dance performance starring six local and international dance groups. Come celebrate China and Macau's anniversaries with exhilarating performances full of incredible sights and sounds.
